Letter to Local Businesses & Leader
Dear Business and Professional Leader:
GLAS has begun its 51st year of high-level, around-the-clock emergency care to the Townships of Lenox and Lincoln, including the Villages of Canastota and Wampsville. Our annual fund drive raises a portion of the funds necessary for our everyday operating expenses, and these funds continue to be vital to our effort to provide the community with the same quality of emergency care rendered over these many years.
We need your help this year; our 2023 budget is -$128,364.00. This is due to a number of factors including: rising costs in medical supplies, fuel, utilities, wages. We have also seen an increase in the number of patients that keep the insurance checks meant to pay for our services. In addition, the reimbursement rates from Medicate and Medicaid do no even begin to cover the cost of the service provided. Last 67% of our patients had Medicare, Medicate Managed Plans and/or Medicaid. This has habitually been the same percentage for many years. The average reimbursement rate for Medicare/Medicare Managed Plans is $438.65. The average reimbursement rate for Medicaid is $196.10.
We are hopeful that you will continue to support us in our endeavor to provide the community with the highest level of emergency care.
Very truly yours,
Alex Brown
President and CEO
